Hostel life
More than a bed. A good place to meet people.
The best hostels are built around shared spaces: a kitchen where dinner becomes a group plan, a rooftop where strangers swap route tips, a tour desk that turns a solo trip into a crew. We help you read the signals before you book.

How HostelConnect works
We’re a discovery site, not a booking engine. Here is exactly what that means for you.
How booking worksWhat is HostelConnect?
HostelConnect is a hostel discovery site for backpackers travelling in Southeast Asia, Central America and South America. We publish destination guides, neighbourhood advice and hostel-style filters, then send you to a named booking partner, currently Hostelworld, to check live availability and book.
Do I book my hostel on HostelConnect?
No. HostelConnect does not take bookings or payments. When you are ready, you continue to our named partner, Hostelworld, which shows live rooms, prices and terms. We may earn a commission from qualifying bookings, which does not change how we describe destinations.
What is the difference between a dorm bed and a private room?
A dorm bed is one bed in a shared room, priced per person. A private room is the whole room, priced per room, and may sleep one, two or more people. Two friends sharing a twin private room pay one room price, not two.
Which regions does HostelConnect cover?
We start with popular backpacker destinations in Southeast Asia (Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, Cambodia, the Philippines), Central America (Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama) and South America (Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil), with more destinations to follow.
Good people.
