How booking works

1. Choose a destination. Use our guides to pick an area and a hostel vibe that suits you.
2. Add dates and guests. We keep your search in the page address so you can come back to it.
3. Continue to Hostelworld. Our buttons say “Check availability at Hostelworld” and open their site in a new tab. You may need to enter your dates again there.
4. Book on Hostelworld. They show live rooms, the final price, payment terms and cancellation rules, and they confirm your booking. Questions about a booking go to them or the hostel.

Prices on HostelConnect

We show a price only when a provider gives us one for your exact dates, guests and room type, with the bed or room basis next to it. A dorm price is per bed; a private room price is per room, whoever shares it. If mandatory charges are unknown we say so and don’t call the amount a total. Without that data we show “Check availability”.

“Couldn’t check” is not “sold out”

If a provider doesn’t respond, we tell you availability couldn’t be checked. We never present that as sold out, and we never show countdowns or “only 2 beds left” messages.
