About HostelConnect

HostelConnect helps backpackers choose where to stay. We publish destination guides, explain hostel areas and atmospheres, and hand you to a named booking partner when you’re ready to book.

What we do

• Write destination guides for backpacker favourites across Southeast Asia, Central America and South America, reviewed against official sources and dated.
• Explain the difference between dorm beds and private rooms, and describe hostel vibes from listed facilities and activities.
• Send you to our booking partner, Hostelworld, where you see live rooms, prices and terms and complete your booking.

What we don’t do

• We don’t take bookings, payments or hold inventory.
• We don’t publish invented reviews, ratings, prices, scarcity messages or “best hostel” awards.
• We don’t use AI images to represent real hostels. Where we use AI-generated images to illustrate a mood, they’re labelled.

How we make money

We may earn a commission when you book through our partner links. That doesn’t change what we write about destinations. Read our affiliate disclosure.
